Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s to help those people in rehabilitation. In fact, among the first people treated using pilates were soldiers recently returned from war. Dancers, George Balanchine and Martha Graham also used Pilates in the early days to help heal their pains and body aches and to help strengthen their bodies.
Since 2015, Pilates Yoga Lincoln has been helping the community train and rehabilitate through the practice of Pilates.
